Business terms
Last updated: 18 September 2026
These terms govern the relationship between a business owner and Tammat: how you apply for an account, what you may edit once approved, what you are responsible for, and when approval is suspended or revoked.
Terms version: business-terms-2026-09
Who these terms address
These terms address anyone applying to manage a business on Tammat. They are an addition to the Terms of use and the Privacy policy, not a replacement for them.
A business account is not a second account and not a second sign-in: it is a capacity added to your existing personal account once your application is approved.
What the application asks for
The legal or trade name of the business, a contact email and phone, the commercial registration number, and a proof document for that registration. We ask for nothing beyond this.
An application is first saved as a draft: it stays with you, it does not enter the review queue, and it does not reserve the business for you. A draft becomes an application under review only after you upload at least one proof document and press “Send for review”. No application is ever approved without a proof document.
The document is private. It is kept in private, non-public storage, only the review team can open it, and it is never published and no public link is issued for it. We use it for one purpose: verifying the application.
By applying you confirm that you are authorised to represent this business and that the data and documents you provided are accurate and belong to it. Providing inaccurate information is sufficient grounds for rejection or for revoking approval.
Recorded with your application are the version of these terms and the moment you accepted it, so it is known which text you agreed to.
Review and its outcome
The application goes through human review, with one of three outcomes: approval, rejection, or a request for more information that returns the application to you with a note so you can correct and resubmit it.
The review decision and its reason are shown to you alone inside the app, and are not shown publicly.
Approving an account verifies the relationship; it is not a commercial endorsement by Tammat: it is not a recommendation of the business, not a guarantee of its service, and not an advantage in ranking.
A business has one effective claim at a time, and no more than one owner is approved for it.
What you may edit once approved
Once approved you may edit the business name and its photos.
You may not edit the city, the geographic location, the category, or the place’s identity at the maps provider. Those are reference data belonging to the catalog, not to the business. At the first approval and publication our reviewers confirm the place’s location so that it stays known after the maps provider data expires; that is a TAMMAT record, not a field you fill in.
Editing goes through a draft: you save, then send for review, then it is published once approved. What is not approved is not shown to people, and the published version stays as it is until an approved version replaces it.
Photos are re-encoded on our servers into two fixed sizes with their metadata stripped, and their number is limited by a technical cap stated in the screen.
Your responsibility for what you publish
You are responsible for the accuracy of the business name and photos, for the photos being of your business, and for holding the right to publish them.
What applies to user content in the community guidelines applies to business content: nothing objectionable, misleading, or impersonating.
You grant us a non-exclusive licence to display what you publish inside Tammat and on the public place pages, for the purpose of operating the service only.
The gradual move away from provider data
Before the first approved publication, people see the place name and photos as they come from the places-data provider.
On the first approved business version, the place moves to business data: your approved name and approved photos become what is displayed, and they are no longer tied to the provider data’s expiry.
After the move, the place stops being refreshed from the maps provider — no name refresh and no photo purchases, and no provider photo is shown under your business name. The provider place identifier and its history stay with us for audit and possible restoration, and they never take precedence over your approved data. The place also stays in its city catalog across refresh cycles, so it does not disappear when the city is refreshed.
Suspension and revocation
Tammat may ask you to change what you published, suspend approval, or revoke it, on a breach of these terms or the guidelines, on a supported doubt about the applicant’s capacity, or by legal order.
Suspension stops your editing rights immediately, and the published version stays on display as it is.
Revocation stops your rights and withdraws what was published about the business. That does not bring the maps provider’s data back automatically: returning the place to provider data is a separate decision by our team.
Every decision is recorded with its time and reason, and the record remains even after a rejection.
Ending the relationship and deleting your account
You may stop using the business account at any time, and you may ask for approval to be revoked.
Deleting your personal account removes your documents from storage and removes your relationship to the business and what you published about it.
The business does not transfer to another user when you delete your account, and the place does not automatically revert to provider data; that is a separate decision as in the section above. The place itself remains in the catalog.
